FoodPad is designed to make it as easy as possible to keep track of what you eat. Simply enter the name of the food and the number of calories it has and tap Add Food!
* Food History: Once you've entered a food, FoodPad remembers it. If you type it in again, you'll see an autocomplete list of just the foods you eat: No need to sort through hundreds of foods you don't care about.
* Recipe Calculator: Homemade foods are usually healthier than prepared food or eating out, but homemade foods don't have handy calorie labels. Fortunately, the Recipe Calculator feature in FoodPad makes it easy to find out how many calories are in your favorite homemade meals.
* History Graph: See how well you're meeting your calorie goals over time.

Super fast and easy for the already informed!

I love this app! It's exactly what I was looking for. I already know how many calories are in the food I eat and I only wanted an easy way to jot it down. Usually there is nothing easier than pen and paper - most apps add a bunch of extra steps to the tracking process (selecting which meal you're recording, sifting through huge food lists) - but this app is as easy as pen and paper with the added bonus of doing the math for you AND remembering foods that you've entered previously. It's a simple daily view of your calorie list that's lightning fast to input and smart but not annoyingly, overly-specific smart. THANK YOU!
It's not automatic,
You have to actually input manually each item, this means you have to already know how many calories is in each food, it won't do it for you. Once you know that info, only then, maybe this is for you. So basically if you are making a recipe and already know how much calorie is each food item, then buy it. I'm not happy because I was expecting it to know already the calorie for each item.
FINALLY! A simple food diary app
This app is perfect if you just want a simple way to track calories and don't need to look up foods. It doesn't have a food database, so don't buy it if that's what you're looking for. There are TONS of apps that have a food database, but so few that just let you type in the calorie information that you already know! This app is great. It has a clean, simple interface with both the entry field and the previous entries for the day on a single screen, so you can very quickly enter in what you ate and the calorie count. The calorie count is entered by numeric keypad, so it's quick (other apps I've seen have scrolling, which is tedious). And the memory of previously-entered foods is great. Other apps make you enter a custom food, which is so annoying when you are eating something you know you probably won't have again. So this is the best of both worlds.
Honestly, this app is darn near perfect for my needs. The only thing I might suggest is that it would be nice to have a setting to allow you to count up instead of down. There are times you might want to track your calorie intake without having an upper limit in mind. Or your limit might change from day to day (you might allow yourself more calories on the weekend, less during the week, or give yourself more on days you exercise). But that's a very minor point, and it's easy enough to change the limit in the settings menu.
